Lover's Moth is a collection of works by Japanese painter and illustrator Toshio Saeki (1945-2019). Born in Miyazaki Prefecture and raised in Osaka. He worked as an illustrator at a commercial design studio for several years, but felt uncomfortable with the reality of commercial design encroaching on his work, and became a freelance illustrator. Influenced by the works of Tommy Ungerer, whom he admired, his humorous works with motifs of eros and horror were highly acclaimed, and when he sent his privately printed cards to related people and artists, he received compliments from Shuji Terayama and Tatsuhiko Shibusawa, and a feature in the then popular magazine ‘Heibon Punch’. In 1972, he was featured on the cover of John Lennon and Yoko Ono's album Summertime in New York City.
