Als een storm die zich voor de kust van Kintyre opstapelt, is deze 15-jarige Springbank donker en onheilspellend, maar heerlijk. Je kunt er het beste van genieten na het diner of met je favoriete sigaar, dit is een echte klassieker.

Neus: de vriendelijke reus van Springbank. Deze whiskey is groot en gedurfd met tonen van gezouten vlees, geroosterde beef jerky, kruidnagel, munt, jodium, oxoblokje en ingeblikte pruimen, allemaal duidelijk zichtbaar door de rijping van het Oloroso-vat, terwijl kreeftenkorven verwijzen naar de karakteristieke maritieme invloed van Springbank.

Smaak: het turfachtige karakter is nu duidelijk zichtbaar met roetachtige ovenrook en tabaksbladeren die prominent aanwezig zijn in dit stroperige drankje, naast pruimen, walnoten, vijgen, demerarasuiker, cacaopoeder en gerookt vlees.

Afdronk: de afdronk groeit en ontwikkelt zich met tonen van roet, leer en walnoten die prominent aanwezig zijn voordat ze afnemen als de eb over een van de kiezelstranden van Kintyre.
