Item Description: This is a superb Tamba-yaki (Tanba ware) handled flower vase by the renowned ceramic artist Ichino Shinsui II (二代 市野信水). Created with the distinctive red clay native to Tamba in Hyogo Prefecture, the vase is wheel-thrown and topped with a robust, hand-formed handle. Its body features bold spatula carvings that form a natural, dynamic landscape-like texture, capturing the rustic elegance that defines traditional Japanese ceramics. This ash glaze finish sets it apart from other kilns such as Bizen or Shigaraki, offering a uniquely subdued yet rich aesthetic.
