Tête de statue africaine de "byeri" Fang du Gabon. 

Chaque famille a un "Byeri", ou boîte à reliquaire, dans lequel sont conservés les os des ancêtres. Ces boîtes étaient gardées par le plus vieil homme du village, le "esa". Les boîtes à reliquaires étaient surmontées d'une statue ou d'une tête qui servait de gardien des boîtes "byeri". 

Statue en bois avec les yeux en bronze ainsi que sur la chevelure.
