Maria met Kind – gips – Frankrijk – einde 19e / begin 20e eeuw

Prachtig gipsen beeld van Maria met het Christuskind, uitgevoerd met verfijnde detaillering en voorzien van een mooi natuurlijk patina. Maria wordt in een tedere houding weergegeven, met haar blik liefdevol gericht op het Kind dat ze beschermend in haar armen houdt. De gewaden vallen in elegante plooien en zijn langs de randen van de mantel rijk versierd met fijne ornamenten. De voet van het beeld is bijzonder fraai, gedecoreerd met wolken en engelenkopjes die het geheel een hemelse uitstraling geven.

Het beeldje is 42cm groot, en in goede staat met ouderdomssporen; er zijn enkele krimpscheuren zichtbaar aan de rug en arm van Maria en een kleine chip aan haar neus, niet opvallend.
