Antique German Travel Alarm Clock – Junghans – ca 1900– With Musical Movement

This is a fine late 19th-century travel alarm clock, made by the renowned German manufacturer Junghans. The clock is housed in a rectangular silvered brass case with ornate detailing on the front and beveled glass sides. It has a sturdy brass handle on top, typical for portable clocks of this period.

The dial features Roman numerals, subsidiary dials for the alarm and seconds, and blued steel hands. Both the dial and movement are signed with the Junghans star trademark.

The clock is fully functional:

Integrated musical box, playing a pleasant melody after the alarm is triggered

A charming and unusual combination of timekeeping and music, designed for travel but elegant enough to display.

Dimensions: approx. 15 × 13 × 10 cm (5.9 × 5.1 × 3.9 in)

A matching winding key is included.

Good antique condition, with signs of age and use (see photos)

Dial with some patina, case with wear to silvered finish

Movement fully working, alarm and musical mechanism tested
