Cha'dansu 茶箪笥 (tea cabinet) - Keyaki wood (Zelkova - Japanese oak), Bronze - Japan - Taishō period (1912-1926)

A lovely Japanese wooden cha'dansu 茶箪笥 (tea cabinet) in a single section. Fully restored, cleaned, and waxed. Constructed from precious 'Keyaki' wood (Zelkova - Japanese oak) with a lovely dark warm brown finish. The cabinet is arranged with two pairs of sliding doors fitted with charming bronze comma-shaped thumb grips, four drawers of different sizes equipped with slender bronze ‘warabite’-shaped bail handles, and a removable panel with a drop-pull handle. Behind the longer sliding doors a staggered shelf in a large storage area. Dimensions: Height 91.5 cm, Width 74 cm, Depth 36.8 cm. Period: Japan – Taishô period (1912-1926). A very practical cabinet in a very good restored condition with some minor traces of age and use. Please refer to the photos for a detailed condition reference. When shipped we will add a certificate of authenticity.
