Masque Suku Kankungu normalement accompagnés d'une barbe et d'une coiffe volumineuses en raphia. Le visage a une patine brute de grand grand dimension et présente des traits difformes ne laissant pas différent le spectateur. 
Les Masques Suku Kakungu sortaient et dansaient une assistante effrayée, mais ce sont les femmes enceintes qui sont visées par ce masque qui réclamait l'enfant qu'elles portaient. Celles-ci n'avaient d'autres choix que de se soumettre à kakungu en lui versant une rançon que celui-ci réclamait pour préserver le fœtus de naître aveugle et /ou, les traits gonflés du masque. Parfois Kakungu sortait avec son pendant féminin, appelé KAZABA ou METEEMU.
Les ethnies Suku et Yaka très proches géographiquement disposent de la même structure sociale et politique ainsi que des pratiques culturelles similaires.
