La statuetta rappresenta un defunto con il capo appoggiato alla mano e le gambe incrociate in una posa da pensatore. Le statuette funerarie venivano create per essere appoggiate alle tombe e onorare il defunto e la sua memoria. La statuetta presenta dei punti smangiati e corrosi a causa del materiale friabile  e dell' età dell' oggetto che risale probabilmente agli anni 20-30 del 900. Proviene da un' eredità di una persona che ha vissuto per alcuni periodi in Africa a cui la statuetta è stata donata negli 70 da una persona amica dello scultore che la teneva in casa.
