Sharp Corporation - Calculator - 1960-1970 - Sharp CS-1109D “COMPET

A rare Showa-era Sharp CS-1109D electronic calculator, part of Sharp’s COMPET series, made in Japan. This is a desktop-style fluorescent display calculator with a solid industrial design typical of 1970s Japanese office equipment. It features a full numeric keypad, calculation memory functions, and a beautiful green VFD (vacuum fluorescent display). The unit is labeled as “junk” (non-working) — it powers on when connected to AC and displays “0,” but keys do not register input. Battery operation has not been tested. Ideal for collectors of retro Japanese electronics, Sharp history, or as vintage interior décor. Condition: Powers on (display shows “0”) but keys do not function. Sold as a junk / restoration / display item. Cosmetic condition is excellent for age — light scuffs, minor yellowing, and clean overall. Original AC cord included. Untested with batteries. Method of Shipment FedEx or Japan Post NOTICE The lot will be carefully packaged and shipped by FedEx or Japan Post. Delivery usually takes 1–2 weeks. The shipping method may vary depending on the item price and size. Sometimes Customs or the delivery company in your country may contact you by phone or email for clearance. Please make sure you are available to respond. If not, the parcel may be returned to me, and reshipping will cost more than twice the original shipping fee. I appreciate your cooperation.
