There are some wrinkles and wear due to age, but the colors have been beautifully preserved. Please refer to the images for details. ■If you want more information, see Edo-Tokyo Museum: https://museumcollection.tokyo/works/6245709/ This shinie (memorial woodblock print) was created by the artist Utagawa Kunisada(Hosai) in memory of the Kabuki actor "Onoe Kikunosuke II," who passed away in June 1897 at the young age of 34. The title “Satsukibare-五月霽” (“Clear Skies in May”) evokes a sense of serenity and renewal after sorrow, reflecting both mourning and hope. Kikunosuke II is depicted with calm dignity, dressed in refined costume and framed within a circular window motif, symbolizing transcendence.
