Original Cassina Maralunga design sofa offered in very good  vintage condition

Version: 1979 - 2-seater - sturdy and supple, highest category Pelle de luxe leather color camel brown - loose cushions filled with goose down (can be removed)

1st owner - highest quality - rare in this 1st generation (1980) vintage version, supple leather with beautiful patina and traces of use that are consistent with age and only make the sofa more character - everything functions as it should 

The seat height is 43 centimeters. The design has a light gray steel frame with a core consisting of a mix of CFC-free polyurethane foam and polyester.

The Maralunga ('all time favourite') is a very comfortable timeless piece of furniture designed by Vico Magistretti for Cassina. This model has become a well-known design classic that has even been included by the New York Museum of Modern Art. The back of the Maralunga can be folded up, creating a comfortable high backrest. By folding the back down again, visual space is immediately created again, the view is then no longer obstructed by the high backrest. A fantastic solution that is not inferior to the comfort of the sofa!

Maralunga by Cassina is one of the most emblematic Italian design sofas that has inspired generations of designers. Originally designed in 1974 by the renowned Italian designer and architect Vico Magistretti (1920 – 2006) and still an undisputed international bestseller. Magistretti looked for a design that fully met his high demands for extreme comfort: an embrace of warm and comfortable seating. From this idea was born the unparalleled Maralunga sofa from the iContemporanei collection, winner of the Compasso D'Oro in 1979
