About the Designer – Michael Graves (1934–2015)
Michael Graves was one of the leading figures of postmodern architecture and product design. His collaboration with Alessi in the 1980s brought a fresh, whimsical sensibility to household objects, blending classical references with modern materials and bold colors. Graves believed good design should be accessible and uplifting — a philosophy clearly embodied in his enduring work for Alessi, including the beloved 9093 kettle and these beautifully crafted espresso cups.
