This is an early 20th century European jewelry box, richly decorated in the Neoclassical or Romantic Revival style, France

Exterior Design:

The box is made from cardboard or wood with printed and embossed paper decoration, mounted on a fabric-covered base (likely velvet or brocade).
The lid and sides are adorned with printed chromolithograph panels in vivid red and gold tones, featuring Neoclassical motifs: garlands, bows, floral festoons, and a central pastoral scene.
Central Scene (Lid):

Depicts a mythological or allegorical figure, possibly Diana (Artemis), goddess of the hunt, resting with a hound, surrounded by cherubs (putti) in a lush landscape.
The style is very typical of Belle Époque decorative arts, blending classical iconography with romanticized innocence and nature.
Interior:

Lined in silk or satin with floral embroidery or printed motifs, showing signs of wear and fraying — consistent with age.
Designed to hold small valuables, such as rings, brooches, or other jewelry.
Hardware:

A small central keyhole escutcheon in gilt metal, surrounded by decorative mounts (though the key may be missing).
The lock and hinges appear to be original, albeit lightly worn.

Likely made between 1880–1910, during the Victorian or Belle Époque period.
