A fine Japanese tall and narrow black lacquered cabinet of drawers 衣装箪笥 (ishô’dansu) in a single section. Fully restored, cleaned, and waxed in Japan.
Crafted from indigenous kiri 桐 (paulownia) wood, the front is finished in a glossy black lacquer, while the sides display a refined shunkei 春慶-style dark red lacquer that subtly reveals the natural wood grain.
The cabinet is designed with four spacious, smooth-running drawers, each fitted with sturdy iron warabite 蕨手-shaped bail handles, providing ample storage capacity. Both sides are equipped with en-suite totte 取手 (grip handles) and a retractable pole-carrying handle, facilitating easy transport.

In a very good restored condition with minimal traces consistent with age and use, including a small ring on top. Please refer to the photos for a clear condition reference.
