Urchin is a unique vessel crafted by Atelier Colby, a deep pannelled bowl with a punch detail pattern.

The bowl has been wet molded in 2.4mm natural vegetable tanned leather from Tuscany. It is sliced, stretched, pinned and dried. The panels are saddle stitched and hand punched. The bowl is versatile and can be displayed fully rounded or deflated. 

The leather is tanned using water and natural organic materials like mimosa and chestnut bark. It is one of the most sustainable tanning techniques and creates a leather that responds to its environment over time, developing a distinct patina from where it is placed and how it is handled.
