Sfeervol wandbeeld van Maria, volledig met de hand gesneden uit massief hout. Maria staat met gevouwen handen in gebed en een ingetogen, serene blik. Haar mantel valt in zachte plooien rond haar figuur.

Ze staat op een wereldbol, symbool voor de aarde, met een slang die zich eromheen slingert – verwijzend naar het kwaad en de aardse zonde – die zij door haar zuiverheid overwint. Deze iconografie is typisch voor voorstellingen van Maria als de Onbevlekte Ontvangenis.

Het houtsnijwerk heeft een warme, donkerbruine patina met subtiele kleurvariaties die de natuurlijke nerf van het hout benadrukken. Achteraan is een ophangoog voorzien voor bevestiging aan de muur. In goede staat met lichte gebruikssporen passend bij de leeftijd.
