Bernhard Sandfort (1936, Cologne – 2020, Mannheim) was a German artist and painter, represented in the ZKM | Center for Art and Media Collection. After a carpentry apprenticeship, he studied at the Kölner Werkschulen and the Staatliche Werkkunstschule in Kassel. Sandfort became known for his strict, often geometrically abstract and constructivist painting concept, sometimes incorporating chance procedures, which he termed "metastatic" or "dialogic" painting.

In 1969, he founded the Galerie für kollektive Kunst in Berlin, and in 1970, the producer's gallery Augenladen in Mannheim, where he organised over 100 exhibitions and socio-political events until 2012. Early exhibitions included shows with François Morellet and Uli Pohl (1961), and Gerhard Rühm and Herbert Oehm (1962).
