This documentary film, the result of a year and a half of relentless pursuit, captures Kusama as she continues to race through the global art world without pause. The camera records the essence of Kusama's art—born from the struggle between “Life,” “Death,” and “Love”—sometimes quietly, sometimes eloquently. This very quality instantly and irrevocably drags the viewer into an unknown world, violently shaking their soul.
The film closely documents the precious moment when her latest series, the 50 monochrome works titled “Love is Eternal” (F100 size), is completed. Footage captured by a fixed camera, from the pristine white canvas to the finished piece, continues to overwhelm the viewer. We stand witness to the very moment of birth of Kusama's art—the moment the world's Kusama fans have watched and waited for.
