Sedia in noce, di manifattura italiana in stile rinascimentale, scolpito nel XIX secolo, con gambe e schienale interamente scolpiti.

La seduta e lo schienale sono riccamente intagliati con motivi tipici del Rinascimento come volute, foglie, maschere, erme, e figure zoomorfe detti gargoyle e piedi leonini. Lo schienale raffigura al centro uno stemma nobiliare di Firenze.

Questo modello di sedia ebbe origine nell'Italia rinascimentale a Firenze, Maestri ebanisti realizzarono in diversi modelli queste sedie per le case della nobiltà, posizionati lungo i muri degli androni o del portego, un grande salone da ricevimento, luminoso e riccamente arredato per mostrare agli ospiti la ricchezza della famiglia.

La sedia è stata restaurata recentemente con trattamento anti tarlo e cera per il nutrimento del legno.
In buone condizioni generali, testimoniando il passare del tempo con segni di usura che, tuttavia, non pregiudicano la bellezza, la forma e l'integrità di questo pezzo unico.
