Prachtige, originele Dagobert stoel daterend circa 1890!

Deze handgemaakte stoel is rijkelijk en fijn versierd met houtsnijwerk, waaronder leeuwenkoppen op de armleuningen en een gedetailleerd motief op de rugleuning.

Gemaakt van massief hout is deze stoel na al die jaren nog stevig en stabiel. De stoel is voor zijn leeftijd, meer dan 125 jaar oud, verrassend mooi.

De stoel is ook wel bekend als Savonarola, Dante of X-frame stoel. Dit soort stoelen kregen in de 19e eeuw de naam Savonarola, vernoemd naar Girolamo Savonarola, een Italiaanse priester die van 1494 tot 1498 in Florence woonde. Het ontwerp is afgeleid van een oude Romeinse "X"-vormige stoel die populair was in middeleeuws Italië. Het is een van de oudste vormen van stoelen of krukken, waarvan voorbeelden teruggaan tot het 2e millennium voor Christus.
