Vincent Gallo
Petit Gra Publishing/1999/Japanese/230*160*23

Vincent Gallo 1962-1999: A Collection of Works and Photographs by the American Artist and Visionary. Gallo is a multi-talented artist active in diverse fields including music, painting, acting, and film directing. Raised in the small town of Buffalo, he also has the distinction of having formed the band “Grey” with Jean-Michel Basquiat, who passed away at the age of 27. He shot to fame in 1998 with his autobiographical film Buffalo '66, which he directed, wrote, starred in, and composed the music and art for. His subsequent activities are well known. In Japan, he enjoys great popularity, having held a solo exhibition at the Hara Museum of Contemporary Art, performed at Fuji Rock Festival, and appeared in films. This book is a visual biography of Gallo published the year after Buffalo '66. It includes Polaroids taken by Gallo himself, promotional materials for films, and portraits of Gallo by David Armstrong and Richard Avedon. English and Japanese text.
