2019 Dalva - Late Bottled Vintage Port - Porto - 6 Bottles (0.75L)

C. da Silva, 2019 Dalva Late Bottled Vintage Port 6 x 0.75L 6 Bottles Port Wine WINEMAKER: José Manuel Sousa Soares AWARDS/RECOMMENDATIONS 92 Points, Decanter World Wine Awards (2013 Vintage) 90 Points, International Wine Challenge (2013 Vintage) 17 Points, Vinho Grandes Escolhas (2013 Vintage) WINE VARIETIES: Traditional grapes from Douro region. VINIFICATION These wines are produced from a careful selection of grapes with a high concentration of tannins and color. To extract these components from the grapes, they are subjected to intense maceration in the first 48 hours, followed by fermentation at a controlled temperature, finally interrupted by the addition of wine-based spirit. Coming from a single year, this Late Bottled Vintage was bottled in the sixth year after harvest. TASTING NOTES Deep ruby color, with well-marked red touches. On the nose, aromas of ripe black fruits stand out, elegantly combined with nuances of cocoa. When tasted, it reveals soft tannins, excellent structure, providing a long and persistent finish. SERVING Perfect to accompany a wide variety of cheeses, chocolate-based desserts, or more seasoned meat dishes. It should be served between 16ºC and 18ºC. HISTORY In 1933, having just arrived from Brazil, Clemente da Silva realized his lifelong dream, creating an excellent wine house that would lead him to the globalization of his business: C. da Silva – resulting from the abbreviation of his name. A year later he registered the brand Dalva, which results from the contraction “da Silva”. With a simple and very Portuguese sound, success was easy to achieve in different markets. Looking for an activity in which to invest the capital from his business in Brazil, the young entrepreneur takes advantage of the close collaboration with the company Corrêa Ribeiro e Filhos, founded in 1862, and owned by his wife's family, to build up his initial stocks and give the first steps in the business, with Vintage Ports from 1896, 1912 or 1920 being famous. Combining centuries-old knowledge and techniques with new technologies and innovation, Dalva's portfolio is unique and distinct, presenting an unparalleled offer of Colheita Port Wines, which include unique and limited editions, the classic Vintage Port Wines, and a range exclusive range of White Port Wines, culminating in the aged and dated Golden White and Dry White collection. PLEASE NOTE: This is a recurring auction. The seal number(s) you see on the photos might differ from the one(s) on your bottle(s).
