Mid-20th Century Tuscan 800 Silver Apothecary Pharmacy Balance Scale – Fully Functional & Provenanced

Direct from Tuscany, this exquisite miniature pharmacy scale is a masterpiece of mid-20th-century Italian silversmithing (circa 1950–1970), crafted in 800 silver (hallmarked in oval with "800" and maker’s mark "329 P" in lozenge — likely Perugia, central Italy’s historic silver hub near Tuscany). 

Weighing 167 g and standing 16.5 × 11 × 5 cm, it rests on a polished onyx(in production from 1930) base of classic Tuscan elegance.

Crowning the beam is a cherubic Lady Justice, sword raised in triumph — a beloved motif in Italian pharmaceutical art, symbolizing precision and purity in dosing. 

The delicately embossed floral pans hang from twisted silver chains; one remains yet the balance mechanism works flawlessly, perfect for weighing medicines, spices, or gold.

Made with 800 silver, this is both a functional scientific tool and a decorative silver sculpture — a rare survivor from a Tuscan private collection.

Condition: Excellent and fully operational.  
Provenance: Acquired in Tuscany, Italy – private estate.
