Pietà – Authentiek zandgegoten brons, Duitsland ca. 1950

Een ingetogen en krachtige weergave van de klassieke Pietà, vervaardigd in de jaren vijftig in Duitsland. Dit wandreliëf is uitgevoerd in massief brons, gegoten volgens de traditionele zandgiettechniek – herkenbaar aan de karaktervolle textuur en de authentieke gietsporen aan de achterzijde.

De sculptuur toont Maria met het lichaam van Christus op haar schoot, in een expressieve maar sobere stijl die typisch is voor de naoorlogse religieuze beeldhouwkunst. De donker gepatineerde bronslaag accentueert de diepte van de plooien en verleent het werk een warme, ingetogen glans.

Met zijn afmetingen van ca. 40 × 30 cm en een gewicht van 5,4 kg heeft dit werk een solide, tastbare aanwezigheid. Het betreft geen reproductie of gietharsafgietsel, maar een authentiek, ambachtelijk gegoten bronzen kunstwerk – een waardevol voorbeeld van devotionele atelierkunst uit het midden van de twintigste eeuw.

In uitstekende staat, met een mooie natuurlijke patina en duidelijke sporen van handmatige afwerking.
Een expressief, karaktervol beeld dat zowel religieuze als sculpturale betekenis draagt.
