Elle fait partie de la "Monkey Band" (Bande de singes), une série de figurines satiriques créées à l'origine par le sculpteur Johann Joachim Kändler pour la manufacture de Meissen au milieu du XVIIIe siècle. Ces figurines parodient les musiciens et les tendances de la cour de l'époque.
Cette version est une reproduction de la manufacture de Scheibe-Alsbach, une entreprise de porcelaine allemande connue pour ses figurines de qualité.
