An exquisite Japanese bronze incense burner (koro), finely cast with elegant double handles and raised on three feet. The body is decorated with a delicate gold and silver inlay (zōgan) design of flying birds among vines and flowers, a motif symbolizing peace, longevity, and prosperity in Japanese art.

The lid features an intricate openwork floral pattern with naturalistic blossoms and foliage, allowing the incense smoke to rise gracefully.
This refined craftsmanship exemplifies the high standard of Japanese metal art from the late Meiji to early Showa period (circa early 20th century).

The piece comes complete with its original wooden tomobako box, bearing inscriptions and an artist’s seal, indicating it was made by a recognized metal craftsman, likely from a Kyoto or Kanazawa workshop.
