A very fine antique 4/4 violin, labeled LORENZO VENTAPANE FABBRICANTE DI STRUMENTI DA CORDE Abita Calata Borgo di Loreto N°. 23. The instrument is in ready to play condition with some old repaired cracks on top, sides and scroll, new boxwood set up, old master made bridge and new strings. The violin has an excellent high grained spruce of the top and two pieces back of softly flamed maple. Rich golden amber color varnish shows an amazing wooden choice. The whole length of the violin is 592 mm and the back 356 mm. The width of the upper bouts: 164 mm; middle bouts: 111 mm; lower bouts: 203 mm. Full size.
