You are bidding on a very fine old 4/4 violin, labeled Joannes Franciscus Pressenda q Raphael fecit Taurini anno Domini 1843. The instrument remains in good condition with repaired cracks on top, new ebony set up and new strings. The whole length of the violin is 593 mm and the back 361 mm. The width of the upper bouts: 168 mm; middle bouts: 114 mm; lower bouts: 208 mm. Materials: very nice two pieces narrow flamed maple back and straight high grained spruce top. Brown-reddish varnish with tears and wears. Golden ground. The sound is very deep, rich, powerful, suitable for soloist. For any further questions feel free to contact me. Shipping worldwide insured!
