Pink Floyd - Ultra-rare gold-plated CD MFSL Dark Side Of The Moon - CD - 1988

Is there any record as influential, groundbreaking, and just amazing as Dark Side of the Moon? Most people remember the first time they heard it. Of course you have it already. But this very rare and desperately wanted version is the one the music deserves. The famous upgraded original master recording by MFSL, pressed on a 24k golden disc. Truly a golden oldie! Yes, 180 gram albums are nice. But if you care about sound (and with this album it is obligatory) this is the cd you want. Made by the Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab, the only orgasnisation able to get hold of the original tapes. These are cleaned and restored through many special methods. On vinyl, they are then half speed mastered but on cd real 24k gold is used to obtain the crispiest and clearest sound possible. This is a audio-phenomenon. So is the record. The first bars of most songs aren’t even music. A heartbeat. A cash registrar. Footsteps. Clocks chiming. But boy, what music it turned out to be. The album sold more than 47 million copies, spend over 1000 weeks on the Billboard chart. There are -currently- 1471 versions, including 7-channel-mixes. Along with the Bat-sign and the Coca-Cola-trademark the prism-sleeve it the most recognizable logo in the world. At first the idea was to make an album without instrument but solely with kitchenware, tools, sounds of nature. (Hence the clocks, the registrar) But that proved too difficult. After playing the songs live for a year they went into the Abbey Road studio. Behind the desk was a young engineer, one Alan Parsons. He came from working with the Beatles, so he knew the utter technical limits. Especially multitracking. ‘We built the songs layer by layer’. It is often said that this music is complex. Very much not so. Listen carefully, mostly you hear just one or two instruments, none more. Silence and echo are as important. The music is breathtaking. But equally important is the sound. Although fifty years old it is still used by hifi-stores as demo-record. It is the ultimate headphone-album. Unbelievable that it was recorded in just two sessions of two months. The Stones worked longer on one single song. As stated, there are over a thousand versions of the album. It is highly collectable. Watch for a pressing with a solid prism, the first UK-version. Due to the importance of the sound quality, it became one of the very first releases of the Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab in 1979. A specialized record plant. They got the original tapes, polished them painstakingly, did a half-speed-mastering, used special vinyl and presto: a wonderful product. And then Compact Disc happened! Even better!! MFSL started anew and released this beauty. It is a real 24karat goldplated disc, which is nice on the eye but improves the sound-quality even more. And it truly sounds like nothing you heard before. The case is special too, it has a lift so there is absolutely no need to touch the surface. And this is your lucky day. It is seldom available. But I got to lay my hands on one (second one, I got one upon release which I will value in my collection until my demise). This one looks brand new, apart from a little crackj in the back-case. Check the pictures and my reviews. The album will be preciously packed and swiftly send, by registered mail. We do not want to lose this gem. Believe me, whatever you offer on this auction, it is worth every penny. This will be a treasure to your collection. Join the very small club of owners. You are welcome.
