Dit geboetseerde hoofdje is waarschijnlijk het origineel voor de identieke in beperkte serie in een mal gevormde ‘plaster’ of gipsen exemplaren die populair waren in negentiende-eeuws Engeland.
Vergankelijkheids- en nagedachtenisbeeldje, Engeland, 19de eeuw, ‘plaster death mask of an infant child’.
Hoog kinderhoofdje 15,5 cm; hoog met gedraaid houten sokkel 24 cm, diameter sokkel 11 cm.
Totaal gewicht ca 2 kg.
Herkomst: particuliere collectie; Sotheby’s Amsterdam, juni 1992 (met omschrijving ‘naar Rombout Verhulst’).
