1 - Wayang golek-pop van koning Kresna vertegenwoordigt het personage Kresna (ook wel Krishna) uit de epische verhalen van de Mahabharata en is de koning van Dwarawati. Hij is de incarnatie van de god Wisnu en wordt afgeschilderd als wijs, strategisch en goddelijk machtig. Kresna is de raadgever van de Pandava's, begeleidt hen met intelligentie en diplomatie, en dient als de wagenmenner van Arjuna tijdens de Bharatayudha-oorlog.

2 - Wayang Golek Citracena, Courtesane Poppen (2) Java, Indonesië

De Courtesane waren dienaren van het hof (Keaton)
De kleding en hoofddeksels verwijzen ook hier naar.

• Pop 1: 65 cm
• Pop 2: 50 cm


Bijzondere set van twee authentieke Wayang Golek Citracena, poppen (Courtesane).
Beide met een uniek karakter en slechts enkele sporen van leeftijd en gebruik –geeft  ze juist een eigen verhaal en charme.
Afkomstig uit Indonesië, Java, waar deze houten poppen traditioneel worden gebruikt in het poppentheater om verhalen uit mythen, legenden en het dagelijks leven te vertellen.

Datering: eerste helft 20e eeuw
