Paar antieke smeedijzeren haardijzers / vuurhonden – handgesmeed – ca. 1900–1930


Mooi en authentiek paar handgesmede haardijzers, ook wel vuurhonden of andirons genoemd.
Vervaardigd uit massief smeedijzer met spiraalvormige top en elegant gebogen poten. Vermoedelijk Belgisch of Frans vakwerk uit het begin van de 20e eeuw (circa 1900–1930).

Deze vuurhonden dienden om houtblokken in de open haard te ondersteunen, zodat de luchtcirculatie verbeterde en het vuur beter brandde.
Tegenwoordig zijn ze ook geliefd als decoratief object in landelijke of industriële interieurs.


Goede, gebruikte staat met een mooi patina van ouderdom en gebruik. Geen breuken, stevige structuur.
