This set of four authentic metal and enameled stock jars dates from ca. 1900–1950 and is made of enamelled steel, lacquered steel, sheet metal, cork and porcelain.

Set of four authentic metal and enameled storage jars from the Netherlands and Germany, made between approximately 1900 and 1950.
These jars were traditionally used for storing and transporting oil, kerosene, milk, vinegar, or other liquids in households, farms, workshops, and grocery stores.
The set consists of:
1. Large reddish-brown storage container (tin, handmade) – ca. 1920–1940
Material: painted sheet steel
Use: liquids / dry stock
Features: Tapered neck, original lid, hand-soldered seams
Origin: Netherlands
Light signs of use and patina commensurate with age
2. Large black and green industrial storage jar – ca. 1910–1930
Material: painted steel with dark patina
Use: oil / petroleum
Features: wide neck, soldered seams, industrial finish
Origin: Germany / Netherlands
Authentic weathered surface
3. Small rust-brown metal jug with handle and original cork – ca. 1900–1920
Material: tin / sheet steel
Uses: oil, lamp oil, fuels
Features: solder joint, pouring spout, wooden/cork stopper (original)
Origin: Netherlands
Beautiful rustic patina, lived-in appearance
4. Gray speckled enameled jug with a bracket and porcelain stopper – ca. 1930–1950
Material: white-speckled enamel over steel
Use: milk, vinegar or lemonade
Features: characteristic marble enamel, metal clasp with white porcelain cap
Origin: Germany (South German enamel factories were market leaders)
Beautiful vintage condition with light enamel wear
Condition:
Good, authentic condition, with the usual signs of age such as rust patina, paint wear, and minor signs of wear. No restorations. Lid(s) and stopper are present where photographed (see photos for details).
