Big Peat Christmas Edition 2016 in a 70 cl bottle with 54.6% volume

Big Peat Christmas Edition 2016 is something special. The blend contains malts from the closed Port Ellen distillery and all still active Islay distilleries. 

Some say it's the island of Islay in a bottle. Bottled at 54.6%, Big Peat Christmas 2016 prides itself on requiring no coloring or chill filtration. This results in a full-bodied malt that imparts a lush mouthfeel.

Of course, the Big Peat Christmas 2016 is also decorated with one of the lovely illustrations. This time Big Peat is sitting by the fireplace with 9 socks hanging up, symbolizing the nine active Islay distilleries.

Nose: maritime notes with chimney soot and seaweed.
Palate: Smoky and full with a dry sweetness.
Finish: Slightly sweet with salty and peppery accents.
