Vase - Ceramic - Faenza albarello, 16th century

Albarello with a cylindrical shape tapering in the center, with a wide mouth and rounded rim; the neck is short, and the shoulder is notably angled. On the front, within an oval beaded frame, is a profile bust of a young lady dressed in Renaissance fashion, with the initials of her name on either side: 'L' and 'P'. This suggests that the vessel has an 'amorous' character and was commissioned by a young man for his fiancée. On the back, against a blue background, the decoration develops in yellow bands, within which brown lines and geometric motifs are drawn. In the central position, the full moon is painted with the appearance of a human face.
Height cm. 21; upper edge cm. 10.8; shoulder diameter cm. 12.5. The crack approximately halfway through the body, along with chips and enamel chips, does not affect the beauty or historical value of the artifact. Photos attest to the item's condition.
