Brand Citroën, model type 11BL Cabriolet, year 1939.
Description from the seller
We present one of the few original Citroen 11BL Cabriolet units in excellent condition.
Vehicle history:
The vehicle controlled by Olivier De Serres December 2021, according to its observations:
Cabriolet Traction 1938
"Cette voiture figure dans mes recensements et est connue depuis la fin des années 70. Elle séjourne en région parisienne chez M. Jean Raymond Lemelle, dans son jus. Puis est achetée au début des 1980 par M. Lafond, négociant en voiture de collection. Elle est alors restored à Grands frais can be exhibited in the Rétromobile salon in 1983 or 1984, on the plots with the unused views to admire the work carried out by the cars.
It is sold in 1986 or 1987 in Italy or on lost trace. Elle demeure endormie au sein de la collection Anna Lisa pour plusieurs années et refait aujourd'hui surface avec une belle patine de restoration ancienne.
The identification number 421015 corresponds in the sequence to a December number 38.
The AT2494 plate corresponds to a 1936 Berlin 7C that M. Lafond also possessed and did not have the car plate absent from the cabriolet. This number does not correspond where it passed to the caisse.
Le ferrage est partie illisible / refrappé.
The caisse is well a cabriolet caisse, with its specific benefits."
We will also contact the Citroën Conservatoire to obtain an authentication certificate for the cabriolet.
When you search the serial number (421015) corresponds well to a Traction cabriolet of 12/14/1938.
The number of cokes in the sky is very similar to a number of 7C berline.
In these circumstances, the Citroën Conservatoire does not release any certification of authenticity.
In December 2021 the car was purchased at auction and a restoration has been carried out, mainly of the mechanical parts, upholstery with the following current result:
Bodywork & Painting
The condition of the bodywork in terms of rust, corrosion or past impacts is impeccable, there is not even a sign of rust, the floor is sound, the wheel arches, fender ends... everything is sound and in excellent condition.
Its exterior condition is the same as Olivier de Serres saw on his visit to the vehicle, although the entire body has been polished, all the small details with wear have been touched up, the rims painted... an incredible detailing job, the car looks freshly painted, although it maintains the patina of a paint job that is more than 20 years old with practically imperceptible signs, some small touches that have been disguised and that we must look very closely to appreciate them.
MECHANICS:
All the mechanics have been completely rebuilt, finishing the work in March 2025 with invoices and photos of the process.
The engine has been completely rebuilt: cylinder liners, pistons, crankshaft grinding, 4 new connecting rods and connecting rod bearings, water pump...
A new copper radiator has been incorporated with greater capacity for both cooling due to the copper honeycomb and liquid capacity.
Cylinder head repaired, including valve seats and valve guides... carburetor repaired and new ignition.
All new ball joints, rubbers, dust covers, complete exhaust system, diaphragm clutch, 12v conversion with alternator (we still have its original dynamo).
The gearbox works perfectly, the gears shift smoothly and without grinding, there are no oil leaks since the half-moon seal system was installed on the crankshaft.
The 4 new Michelin 165x400 tires.
All brakes are new: cylinders, master cylinder, brake shoes, resurfaced drums, new bearings, dust boots...
Mechanically, the car is perfect, everything is new and it has only been driven 100km to adjust its operation, it can travel any distance.
Interior:
The seats are upholstered in beige leather, matching the vehicle's color. The door panels and trim are also beige leather. The thick, knotted carpeting is beautiful, with edging that matches the upholstery. The soft top is new and custom-made. We also have a cover for the soft top. It closes perfectly, although it requires a bit of skill to put on.
The rear seat is also upholstered in beige leather and matching carpeting.
DOCUMENTATION:
It still has its old registration plate from when the vehicle was on display at the Anne Lise collection.
We currently have a certificate of authenticity from the FFVE.
We obtained the historical record from the Nice archives, where we know its registration in 1959 and 1963, and we confirmed that it is a true Cabriolet.
Favorable Control Technique
If you wish, we can help you with the transport; we even have our own trailer to make the delivery ourselves at an economical price.
Thank you very much for your bid

Disclaimer
Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
