Description from the seller

A glorious piece of art.

In this whimsical diptych, maritime romance sails through the playful exchange of two seafaring characters, boldly positioned on vessels that defy the laws of physics. The artist masterfully employs a vivid palette, echoing the spirited cadence of both nautical life and the illustrious circus. Rich blues and vibrant reds dance with earthy browns, invoking a surreal seascape that is both dreamlike and dynamic.

With a nod to cubism and a dash of folk art, the composition is delightfully off-kilter, as if teasing gravity itself. Shadows and highlights create a rhythmic balance, suggesting movement in the seemingly static. These characters, with exaggerated features and attire reminiscent of vaudevillian jesters, humorously mirror each other, inviting the viewer into their cheeky maritime jest. The work lures you into an imaginary voyage where humor meets high seas in a fantastical twist of everyday life.
