2000 Croft - Vintage Port - Porto - 1 Bottle (0.75L)

2000 Croft Vintage Port 1 x 0.75L 1 Bottle Port Wine AWARDS/RECOMMENDATIONS 91 Points, CellarTracker 91 Points, Jamie Goode WINE VARIETIES: Old Vines. VINIFICATION Vintage Port wines represent the best of the products of an exceptional year. Unlike Port wines that age in wood, Vintage Port wines will continue to age and improve in bottle for decades, inscribing in their character both the characteristics of the vineyard and the influence of the winemaker. TASTING NOTES An opaque core with limpid ruby rim. The nose is very dense, much more introverted than the nineties Crofts and the alcohol more integrated into bouquet. The palate is full-bodied, very firm in structure with a little more austerity than usual. Very good delineation although it does not quite have the exuberance or the flamboyance of the vivacious ’94. Conservative and foursquare towards the finish with an attractive hint of blood orange on the aftertaste. Good length. HISTORY Founded in 1588, Croft is the oldest of the original Port houses. The cornerstone of Croft’s distinctive house style is the famous Quinta da Roêda, one of the finest vineyard estates of the Douro Valley, described as the jewel of Port wine estates. Despite its rich heritage and history spanning over four centuries, Croft has never been constrained by tradition. Today, as in the past, it maintains a pioneering spirit, continuing to create innovative new styles such as Croft Pink, the first ever rosé Port. PLEASE NOTE: This is a recurring auction. The seal number(s) you see on the photos might differ from the one(s) on your bottle(s).
