Miniature edition
Typographic miniature by the Brothers Salmin in full original editorial leather, with decorations and title in gold on the spine and covers. Gilt edges on three sides; marbled endpapers.
Title page dated 1902. Preface by Ferdinando Galanti.
Text in the author's final draft (Quarantana).
Collation: XV, 1097 pp.
Dimensions: length 40 mm, width 64 mm, height 34 mm.
Bibliographical note:
The 1902 Salmin mignon edition is documented in two variants, with or without the frontispiece featuring a portrait of Manzoni.
The specimen offered belongs to the variant without antiporta, consistent with the original stitching, with no signs of removal.
The volume is therefore complete as published.
Conditions:
Example in excellent condition. Leather intact, sharp gilding, solid hinges, clean internal pages. No pages missing.
Structurally compact and of excellent presentation.
Origin
Preserved with vintage wrapping bearing handwritten notes with the title, date, and printer.
