Description from the seller
KONG ORIGIN (Red Matte EDITION) by artist Richard Orlinski - LIMITED EDITION - SOLD OUT
New in its original packaging and authenticity certificate!
Kong Origin (Red Matte EDITION) is a reproduction of an iconic work by Richard Orlinski.
When Richard Orlinski discovers the 1933 film King Kong, he is amazed by the story of this exceptional gorilla. Kong is a wild animal with human characteristics, an anthropomorphic animal that Richard Orlinski has been transforming ever since he created it.
In 2010, he brought this mythical creature to life and sculpted Wild Kong, his first resin faceted gorilla.
Since then, he has continuously transformed his Kong: brandishing a barrel of oil, pounding his chest with his fists, dressed like a boxer, a football player, or in the pose of Rodin's Thinker...
Continuing the series, the Artist once again transforms his legendary Kong. This time, he enhances its animality!
Richard Orlinski is a French contemporary artist of international renown. It was in 2004 that he decided to dedicate himself fully to art. The artist then created a pop and colorful universe, and his faceted works have toured the world. Very quickly, exhibiting in unusual and open-air locations became his signature. From the heights of the Courchevel slopes to television sets, the sculptor brings art where it is least expected and challenges the conventions of contemporary art.
His works reach a broad audience, including children fascinated by his iconic creations. He has been an invited guest of honor at Art Elysées, Art Paris, the Artiferia in Bologna, and at the festivals of Cannes, Deauville, and Cabourg.
In 2010, he was ranked as the second best-selling contemporary French artist in France by Art Price, and two of his works are among the top ten highest auctions of 2011.
In 2015, Richard Orlinski became the most sold French contemporary artist in the world. He can be compared to JonOne, Kaws, Chevriet, Seen, JR, M.Chat, Imbue, Peeta, Pantone, Okuda, Bordalo II, Basquiat, Banksy, Arsham, Keith Haring, Damien Hirst, Obey Giant, Invader Futura, Jeff Koons, and Dface.
