Description from the seller

“Cocoon” is a hand-built ceramic sculpture with a vertical, organic silhouette resembling a protective shell. Its form balances between vessel and figure, evoking both containment and emergence.
The glossy white glaze is covered with intricate black drawings — a dense web of insects, wings and botanical fragments. Each line is freehand, forming a delicate surface that suggests movement, transformation, and the fragile pulse of life.
The open top reveals the hollow interior, reinforcing the idea of metamorphosis — a passage through which something new can be born.
The work stands as a tactile meditation on protection, growth and the cyclical nature of existence.

Marina Alexandrova is a contemporary visual artist and researcher based in Sofia, Bulgaria. Her work explores the relationship between matter and transformation through painting, sculpture and experimental ceramics. Exhibited in Bulgaria and abroad, Alexandrova’s pieces often merge intuitive gesture with conceptual depth.
