Pair of wooden sailing ship models dating from 1970–1980.
Description from the seller
We present a pair of model sailing ships.
The first model is a frigate, with a brass plaque bearing the name: 'Fregata, Siclo XVIII.' A frigate, a type of historic three-masted warship, characterized by a sleek structure for speed and maneuverability. The model is made of wood, with fabric sails and worked rigging. Very detailed, as shown in numerous photos; it is in excellent condition. The fabric of the sails is in good condition, as is the wood, which is free from woodworm.
Measurements: Height 60cm; Width 85cm; Depth 10cm.
The second model is the famous 19th-century British clipper ship, launched in 1869, known for its speed in the tea and wool trade, the 'Cutty Sark.' Currently, it is preserved as a museum ship in Greenwich, London, and is the last surviving clipper from that era. The model is made of wood, crafted with great precision, faithfully replicating the details of the original ship. It features fabric sails, three masts, and numerous rigging.
