Box - " Free Shipping " Antique Suzuribako chest type Cash register ink box Cabinet - Suzuri-bako

This is a beautiful amber-colored chest-style inkstone box. It dates from the late Edo period (c. 1750 to 1870). It has aged beautifully, developing a beautiful amber color. The iron has also aged beautifully. This inkstone box had its top lid open to store inkstones, ink sticks, brushes, and other writing implements. The drawers were used to store valuables. It has a handle, so it can be carried easily. Edo-period merchants used it for accounting and business transactions with customers. It was also highly valued as an inkstone box, as receipts were often written with a brush. It is similar to a modern-day cash register. It has a keyhole, but no key. It opens as shown in the photo. There is a crack in the ceiling, but it opens and closes without any problems. It is not loose or loose. The lock on the top lid also works and opens and closes smoothly. Dimensions: Height 21cm, Width 30cm, Depth 18cm. Weight: 2600g
