Description from the seller

Ghisolfi Enrico, studio with Allason Ernesto. He exhibited his first work, "Remembrances," at the Turin Promoter in 1860, followed by: "The Medrio" and "Fishing on the Tanaro" in 1861; "Morning at Oropa" in 1864; "He who sleeps doesn't catch fish" and "The braje 'd tejla" in 1866; "Bread and sweat" in 1867; "A morning at Bordighera" in 1868; "Spring" in 1870; "April morning" in 1872; "Near Bussolino" in 1873; "Imminent storm" in 1876; "Turin" in 1877. He also participated in various exhibitions in Naples, Venice, and Milan. Biscarra Carlo Felice wrote of Ghisolfi in 1869: "He is one of the young artists who nobly feel the dignity of art; he shows us how much he appreciates the following dictum of the excellent critic Arsène Houssaye, directed at the atheists in art. He was a founding member of L’Acquaforte, a society of Italian artists (Turin, 1869), and a collaborator on its publications."
