Description from the seller
Lagavulin Distillers Edition 16 Years Lgv. 4/508 – Limited Edition from 2019, Bottled for
Branch France, LINEA-Design-Box
This Lagavulin Distillers Edition has been maturing for 16 years since 2003. The distillery used a double maturation process in Pedro Ximenez casks. After maturation, the whisky was bottled in 2019 at a mild 43% ABV. The result is a smoky Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky that impresses with, among other things, fruity sherry notes.
Nose: The nose is typical of Islay whisky with a pronounced smoky aroma. The smoke gives way to intense sherry notes and spicy, zesty citrus fruit. Subtle maritime notes emerge.
Tasting: On the palate, the Lagavulin Distillers Edition Lgv. 4/508 presents itself with intense smoke and ash. Sherry notes are subtle and become more pronounced over time. A light sweetness from dried fruit is present, along with a hint of spice.
Finish: The finish is long and characterized by distinct smoke. Notes of smoked ham and spicy oak linger. A subtle fruity sweetness from the sherry remains discreetly in the background.
