Pixa, signed by the artist, presents the acrylic on canvas work "Automatic Visage" (Original edition, 2025), a large multicolour expressionist/action painting in excellent condition, 140 x 90 cm (total 150 x 102 cm), shipped rolled from Berlin with a certificate of authenticity.
Description from the seller
Large gestural portrait where a human face emerges from a dense structure of spontaneous black linework. The marks are applied rapidly, with a rhythm close to automatic drawing, generating a fractured yet cohesive presence.
The background consists of layered colour fields—white, yellow, orange, grey and scattered darker tones—applied through scraping, brushing and partial erasure, giving the surface a textured, palimpsest-like quality.
The artist indicates that the work may operate as an unconscious self-portrait shaped by instinctive movement rather than intentional likeness. This gives the piece an additional interpretative layer, connecting it to traditions of expressive abstraction and psychological introspection.
A strong collector-oriented piece: balanced tension between figuration and gestural abstraction, clear signature, and a visually impactful format suitable for large interiors or contemporary collections.

Painting Immanence
For me, painting is a way of taking part in the movement of the world.
I paint in a state of total openness, where gesture becomes the extension of body and thought.
Forms and colors emerge from a vital flow I do not control — and do not wish to control.
They arise from a space that is both inside and outside, from an energy moving through the body and the canvas.
I do not paint something, I paint what is: the circulation of reality, the power of life in motion.
Each painting preserves the trace of that passage, that shared breath between the world and myself.
It is a painting of immanence, a painting of joy in the Spinozist sense —
the joy of an expanded being, dissolving into the totality of life.
Etienne Pixa is a French-German painter whose works blend abstraction and figuration in the spirit of abstract expressionism. His instinctive, colorful style radiates raw energy and emotion. Exhibited in France and Germany, his vibrant paintings attract collectors internationally.
