Tile (3) - 1650-1700

A small collection of three antique Delft tiles, circa 1700, each measuring circa 13x13cm and together weighing 854g, depicting a fishing boat, a stork (emblem of the city of Den Haag) and a religious scene.

The religious themed tile depicts a scene featuring the devil giving Jesus three challenges in the desert (as described in Deuteronomy). A similar tile is located at the Ottoman Bardo Palace in Algers, see picture.

Condition: Overall good, the usual crazing, rim abrasions and minor chips associated with antique tiles, no further damages or repairs. Minor wear commensurate with age.
