Harouna Ouedraogo (1981) - Multi-Visage

Born in 1981 in Ouahigouya (Burkina Faso). Lives and works between Ouagadougou and Lyon.

Graduated from the National Institute of Artistic and Cultural Training of Burkina Faso in 2004. Painter and draftsman with an expressive style, Harouna Ouedraogo translates his inner turmoil onto the canvas. His paintings hover between figuration and abstraction. When he creates, he does so with his entire body. He throws onto the canvas his anger, joy, and sadness, thus creating a work that could almost be called 'abstract expressionism.' The colors and textures clash before finding a balance between opacity and transparency.

Building, deconstructing, rebuilding are actions I often use in my work, involving an illogical search for line and form.
