Antique Asian porcelain plate in Empire style (1850–1900) with a central Phoenix medallion among peony sprays and foliage on a turquoise ground, with a gilt, wavy lotus-edge and a low foot; diameter 21.5 cm, height 5.3 cm, weight 620 g, provenance private collection, original attribution.

Rare antique Asian plate.
The large central medallion depicts a standing Phoenix among sprays of peony flowers and foliage on a turquoise background. The wavy edge is decorated with flowers and Taoist symbols. The edge is gilded. It stands on a low foot and has a clearly waved, lotus-shaped rim. The bottom of the collar is finely decorated with sprays of peony flowers, buds, and foliage on a turquoise background with a pink border. The foot is decorated with a white and green wave pattern. On the underside of the rim, there are two delicate chips about 2mm in size. There is a distinct factory mark on the bottom. The vessel is in perfect condition.
